Excellent Show! Willie Rocked!
The Red Clay Strays concert last night was a memorable experience for my family. I took my 25 year old special needs son and my 83 year old mother to see them. He certainly did not disappoint us, as all three of us are huge fans. At his memorial in October, we had Willie's music playing in the background. The service was emotional for us, with four of my dad's grandchildren singing Blue Eyes Cryin in the Rain.
Willie's voice, sharp and melodic as ever, stands out among "seasoned" singers who have lost it. I appreciate the bare bones approach to his concerts - no fancy lights, no monitors, just GREAT music. The Genesee Theatre, a beautiful and perfect venue, hosted the concert. My father, an even bigger fan, just passed away.
